Connecticut
A part of the original 13 colonies, Connecticut is one of the longest settled areas in the United States. The first settlements were established by colonists from England in the 1630s. Also known as the Constitution State, Connecticut has had significant influence as the United States federal government was formed. Today, Connecticut boasts the highest income per capita as well as medium income in all of the states, making it also known as the wealthiest state in the Union.
