Idaho
Potatoes are commonly associated with the state of Idaho. However, because of a vast number of gemstones discovered in the area, Idaho is called The Gem State. There are a wide variety of natural resources in Idaho, particularly metals. For example, silver, zinc, tungsten, platinum, chromium, cobalt, copper and lead have all been discovered in the state. For more than a hundred and fifty years, silver and gold have been mined in the area as well. In particular, Idaho is rich in silver, providing about 45 percent of all silver in the United States. It is also worth noting that Idaho is home to the Sunshine Mint, which offers bullion and custom minted products.
